Women’s Service
Care Principles provides a dedicated, gender-specific secure service for women with learning disabilities and other complex mental health needs. The specialist, person-centred service is based on a Dialectical Behavioural Treatment (DBT) therapeutic model and is delivered in a gender-sensitive environment designed to reduce feelings of vulnerability whilst providing high relational and procedural security. The service focuses on issues of trauma, self-harm and emotional dysregulation.
Our aim is to foster emotional growth, stability and empowerment in women who often have a dual diagnosis of personality disorder or mental illness as well as a learning disability.
The service is available at Linden House and Rowan House.
