Linden House, Market Weighton, East Yorkshire

Linden House is a modern, purpose-built 110-bed independent Secure Hospital, offering both medium and low secure environments, for adults with learning or developmental disorders and challenging behaviour who are detained under the Mental Health Act.  It provides specialist services for individuals with a primary diagnosis of learning disability, personality disorder or autistic spectrum disorder / Asperger syndrome.

The Hospital, which opened in 2001, provides Medium Secure Services and Therapeutically Enhanced Secure Services for men.  It also provides Women’s Enhanced Secure services in a gender-specific environment.  The Hospital is situated on a 20-acre campus close to Market Weighton, surrounded by open fields.

Patient accommodation is provided in six 8-bed bungalows and four houses, each with nine beds, and four 6/7-bed houses. Facilities on site include an extensive purpose-built Supported Learning Centre with 20 activity rooms and two large gymnasia, as well as a hard surface all-weather play area and a range of horticultural and recreational amenities within the attractively landscaped grounds.

The Hospital is registered with the Healthcare Commission and accepts patients aged between 18 and 65.
