James House, Chudleigh, Devon 

James House is a new 14-bed independent Hospital/Step-Down Unit for adults with learning disabilities and/or significant impairment of social/cognitive functioning.  It opened in January 2008.

Situated in the village of Chudleigh, south of Exeter in Devon, the unit accepts both informal patients and those detained under the Mental Health Act. Accommodation is provided in a large house with individual en-suite bedrooms and spacious communal areas.

James House is registered with the Healthcare Commission and accepts both male and female patients aged between 18 and 65.
