Learning support

Why work as a teacher or tutor at Care Principles?

Our learning support teams operate in dynamic environments that place an emphasis on the continuous professional development of staff. Working as a teacher or a tutor can be challenging due to the diverse needs of our patients and residents, some of whom are reluctant learners. The teams celebrate success and foster positive working relationships by offering high levels of support through effective leadership, guidance and training.

We actively promote your professional development by providing regular in-service training and by supporting you to access external training to develop additional skill areas.

What to expect

You will be responsible for building on our patients' and residents' existing strengths and teaching new skills during timetabled sessions. Teachers and tutors focus on delivering one or more subject specialisms and curriculum design and delivery are central to the role. Sessions are tailored to recognise and respond to the diverse needs of each service user and may be delivered both on and off-site during individual and group settings, as appropriate. The focus of all sessions is to develop individuals' self confidence/esteem, social skills and ability to live as independently as possible.

You will promote a holistic approach to patient/resident care by working closely with the multi-disciplinary team. Service users' progress and goal achievement will be monitored and reviewed by the multi-disciplinary team and external agencies during regular progress review meetings. Effective written and verbal communication skills are required in tandem with leadership skills and an ability to work as part of a team.
