Secure hospitals

Medium secure hospitals

Low secure hospitals

People with learning or developmental disorders and challenging behaviour who are detained under the Mental Health Act are accommodated in our medium and low secure hospitals.

These facilities offer high levels of care and rehabilitation in a safe and supportive environment with levels of physical, relational and procedural security relevant to the patient group. Patients live in attractive 7, 8 or 9-bed bungalows or houses, all of which have been specially designed to increase familiarity with independent living.

These facilities are ideal for adults with a primary diagnosis of learning disability, with individual and group therapies designed to help our patients progress to the next stage of their care programme, or move to less restrictive environments.

Our on-site team of consultant psychiatrists, clinical psychologists, therapists and nurses, provide each patient with an individually-tailored programme of therapies and developmental activities, which is adjusted in line with their changing needs through careful monitoring and regular assessment.

The facilities in our secure hospitals include:

  • Attractive individual bedrooms, many with en-suite facilities

  • Spacious communal, leisure and recreational areas

  • Large, attractive gardens, some with horticultural areas and all-weather outdoor play areas
