Positive engagement, respect and encouragement are fundamental aspects of the care service provided at Rowan House. Patients are continually assessed ad monitored, which enables our team of healthcare professionals to adjust their care programmes and keep them as relevant and stimulating as possible. Over time, as patients enter a more 'future-focused phase of treatment, our team use a range of empirically-validated risk assessment and relapse prevention techniques, to ensure that social integration or discharge is as safe and supported as possible.
Treatments and services include:
- A free-of-charge pre-admission assessment
- Tailored care and treatment programmes, including individual and group therapies, delivered within a well-established, evidence-based psychological model of care
- A range of individually structured physical, therapeutic and learning activities
- Regular risk assessment and relapse prevention work
- On-site advocacy services
- Structured care pathways with the aim of leading to step-down and community integration (where appropriate)
- Gender specific environments for both male and female patients

Service users:
Men and women aged 18 and upwards who require accomodation in a mediumor a low secure environment who:
- Have a personality disorder, learning disability, developmental disorder or autistic spectrum disorder
- Display challenging and/or offending behaviours
- Have behavioural difficulties
- Have a forensic history
- Are detained under the Mental Health Act
Facilities include:
- Individual bedrooms
- Spacious communal, leisure and recreational areas
- An extensive learning centre with 22 activity rooms, a large sports hall and a fully-equipped gymnasium
- A large, attractive garden with horticultural areas
- A hard-surface, all-weather outdoor play area
