Autistic Spectrum Disorders / Asperger Syndrome Service

Care Principles provides a highly specialised service for individuals with autistic spectrum disorders and challenging behaviour including those with a forensic background and high functioning autism / Asperger syndrome.

Led by an internationally-recognised, multi-disciplinary senior clinical team, we offer the very highest levels of expertise in the understanding and management of autistic spectrum disorders and we are working in close partnership with the National Autistic Society towards accreditation of our services.

We undertake extensive assessment and confirmation of diagnosis using recognised schedules and have adapted our core goal-based Cognitive Behavioural Support Programme (CBSP) to address the specific needs of this patient group.

We believe this level of assessment and treatment is unique in the UK.  It meets both standard and higher dependency needs within purpose-designed, modern, medium and low secure units that provide autism-friendly, safe, ordered and comfortable environments.

Our approach is to work with our patients using individualised psychological interventions and non-medication strategies wherever possible. The aim is to help the individuals in our care reduce their levels of challenging / offending behaviour and achieve an improved quality of life.

This service is available at Linden House and Rowan House.
